Hans has worked since 2008 on sustainable production/sourcing of agro-commodities in Asia South/Central America and Africa. In his work he focused on the development and implementation of: – Planning tools for sustainable land use planning and green growth strategies – Training programmes for smallholder farmers on increasing productivity, improving institutional development and reducing environmental impact for palm oil and rubber – Traceability systems for coffee, cocoa, palm oil and rubber – Models for access to finance for smallholders in the palm oil and rubber sector Hans is currently Sr. Adviser in SNV’s Climate Smart Agriculture team. In this role he is globally coordinating SNV’s work on Deforestation Free Supply Chains and Tracking and Traceability across SNV programmes as well as globally coordinating the work on Palm Oil.
